OFA, Odense Photographic Amateur Club, celebrates its 125th anniversary in 2025 and marks it with this photo exhibition.

Photography, cameras and society have changed a lot since the club's inception. Back then, photography was reserved for the few, and only men from the city's best bourgeoisie practiced the art of photography at the club.

Fortunately, that's no longer the case. Today, everyone can take pictures, we have tons of them on our mobile phones, and we are exposed to a huge amount of visual impressions on social media and television.

The exhibition you are standing at now gives you the opportunity to enjoy the physical photography. OFA members have each chosen one of their own pictures that they would like to show you. On the boards there is a QR code that takes you to the members' gallery on our website.

So what happens in a photography club, and what do we do?

We meet once a week with very varied activities on the program.

We show each other pictures, get feedback and receive advice from our club mates. With our different skills we can share knowledge, and our different interests help to arouse curiosity.

Technique, image composition and image processing are discussed. We hold friendly competitions, go on photo trips and arrange exhibitions. We are visited by exciting photographers who show pictures and open our eyes to new possibilities.

It's not all about aperture, shutter speed and Photoshop. In a digital age, we value physical togetherness where we can inspire each other with ideas and new knowledge.
